If you subscribe to the principle that Robert Scoble had a strong hand in turning the public's perception around of Microsoft through his blog, then you will subscribe to the logic of a national security service using a similar technique to show its "ordinary human face." If you subscribe to this belief then you will already know the value of blogs to business. The fact that the Israeli Secret Service is blogging to give its countrymen a better view on the types of people who work there and what the broadly do, should not warrant anything much more than general...

A big event from me this morning. I presented to my first Vistage CEO group. For those of you who have not heard of Vistage, it is a community of CEO's that come together in small groups to meet, talk, share and debate. We haven't devoted a blog post to a book before, but having just finished Larry Weber's Marketing to the Social Web, there was more to say than just a "just read it" style review. It really does go a long way to articulating the business value of online communities. I found this book to be extremely helpful and I think everyone else who reads it will too. It really does not matter if you are the most sophisticated web based marketer or someone who is curious about getting value from the web but has the courage to admit you haven't...
