As you will have seen from Ed's previous post we are very interested at Trovus in the recent moves by companies such as IBM in the social networking space.  In the last few months IBM have released Lotus Connections "Social Software for Business".

We think this is a great move, however previous experience with IBM products leads us to believe that some may find it a challenge to get the product up and running.  We think this is a shame, so to this end we have released this step by step installation guide for getting Connections up and running on Windows, using either Active Directory or Tivoli Directory Server.  It also includes a specific section on setting up the Profiles feature, which is especially tricky.

Please note it is not intended to enable you to set up a fully-fledged production environment!  This is just a guide to help people get started.  I'm sure there are a few mistakes, so please use the comments section on this page for feedback, and we'll improve it!

Of course, once you have got it working, give us a call to discuss how best to put it to use!  How are you going to get people to use the site and drive rewarding dialogue instead of one-way traffic?  That's where we can help!

Mitch Cohen has put a blog post about how to get Connections working with Domino (unsupported). His post is http://www.curiousmitch.com/CuriousMitch/mitch2.nsf/d6plinks/MCON-765QCE#Comments
