I'm at home,  I'm bored.  That means just one thing in my eyes - it's time to stumble.  Stumbleupon.com is pretty much what it says on the tin.  You download a tool bar into your browser.  You pick your interests - anything from online games to animal rights.  Then once this is done you will spy 3 buttons in your browser.  The first is the Stumble Button.  When pressed this will take you to a random page in your chosen catorgories.  Next is the thumbs up button.  If you stumble on a page you like you press the button and it gets a positive vote.  Finally there is the thumbs down button.  If you don't like a site, hit the button and it gets a negative vote.  There are sections to review and to define your interests as well as you get used to what comes up.

It's not just for when you're bored - recently people have been seeing some real search benefits and higher visitor numbers as a result of the power Stumbleupon has brought them.  A client we work with had over 150 extra views from just two of us giving it a thumbs up.  So it seems there is now real value in this.  So what do we suggest?  Get out there and get stumbling!  Don't just promote your own site though, get involved with the Stumbleupon community.  Have a look and contribute to all the areas of social networking.  Before you know it some real power will come as a result.  It seems that to succeed in social networking you have to be just that:

SOCIAL.

Great blog Mark - I read on one search commentary last week that Stumbleupon is the second highest source of traffic for their site after Google adwords campaigns.
