Well Obviously

If you get to the end of this post then clearly the reaction will be along the lines of "err Yup.  That is obvious."  But still I feel it's a point I want to make, if not for anyone else but myself, as the articulation of it here will help me cement what I think I am learning.

Euan's commended Tom Reynolds for his decisive and public move against on Dr Crippen.  Standards and principles are clearly attractive qualities.

What it says to me as the owner of a fledging blog it is clear message.  Earn your linking structures on merit.  Be considered, informative and clear in purpose.  Articulate well, hold conviction and belief, but not without judgement.  Keep modesty and balance in focus when tackling emotive subjects.  Arrogance is clearly an unattractive quality, particularly in the web as it is held for posterity for all to see.

Jon pointed out the other day.  Our most valuable web entities have been Jon's Lotus Connections Guide, Caspar's good blogging reflections and my response to Gartner's "white element" comment. Each one is either educational, well informed or well reasoned.

Not every post will be a good one, but you know when you are pushing our crap...
